I recently had the pleasure of meeting with Marissa Maroni, Founder of the South County School of Performing Arts, and I was amazed at what she is doing.

Formally, Maroni Music Studio, Marissa noticed the demand for her services had grown; thus her business had to. She no longer would be a one-woman show; she took on other talented teachers and expanded to meet the needs of the students better. South County School of Performing Arts has a "team" of instructors to meet all performing arts needs, specializing in a combination of voice, piano, guitar, dance, and acting lessons.
Located at: 61 Brown Street, North Kingstown RI (2nd Floor)
"As a young musical theatre kid, my desire was to make music and theatre my life, and I'm proud to say that I've achieved that dream. I am dedicated to providing students of all ages and abilities with unparalleled opportunities to work with seasoned teachers, receive top-notch training, and explore limitless educational possibilities."
In chatting with Marissa, I could hear in her voice her heartfelt dedication, not just to her business but to each student. She spoke of a parent of a special needs student who expressed her gratitude to Marissa for her open-mindedness in including her child in class. "As educators, it is our responsibility to adapt our teaching methods to suit each student's unique learning style..." One cannot always find inclusivity in performing arts training, yet Marissa has. "I strongly believe that every child deserves the arts."
The South County School of Performing Arts has lessons and classes for all levels of students. From babies to adults, there is something for all ages and performance levels.

"We believe that the arts have transformative power and can bring joy, self-confidence, and personal growth to individuals of all ages. Our goal is to provide exceptional education and artistic experiences that inspire and empower our students, regardless of their age."
Her answer didn't surprise me when asked where she wants to be in five to ten years. "Our goal in five years is to be a prominent institution that empowers students of all ages to explore their artistic passions, develop their skills, and achieve their full potential. We want to be a hub of creativity, collaboration, and artistic expression, making a lasting impact on the lives of our students in Rhode Island."
