Finding the Rhode Island at The RI Home Show

Exploring RI based companies at the Home Show

By Joyce Campbell, Macaroni KID Southern RI Publisher April 5, 2024

April brings us so much around Rhode Island: birds chirping, flowers blooming, and The RI Home Show. Open from Thursday, April 4th till Sunday, 7th, The RI Home Show boasts a variety of vendors and businesses from which to gather information for all things home-related.

Rhode Island might be the smallest state in the union, but we are filled with some of the best local companies around.  Here is a quick trip around the venue of some of the local businesses that chatted with us.

Booya! This locally-owned family business works to help with junk removal with a sustainable twist.  They work with the families to "Get rid of your stuff without stuffing it into the Earth,"  making sure to recycle, upcycle or find new homes for your unwanted clutter.  Two thumbs up for sustainability!

Liberty Lumber Products - A Coventry-based business that does it all regarding lumber. From fences to tables, they make, create, and educate about all things wood! The craftsmanship on display was simply amazing! From watching their grandfather craft wood at the age of five, this company seems deeply rooted in traditional handcrafting, with all the skills to handle today's technology!  Amazing work on display!

Two Brothers Painting—Located in Southern RI, Two Brothers Painting is determined to provide you with top-notch painting, cabinet making, and helping to keep the Earth clean. Their "Go Green" commitment is to provide a more eco-friendly approach to conducting business and help make the planet a better place.

Aurora Fuel Heating and AC- A RI-based business owned and operated by a local Veteran since 2007. Very friendly and committed to excellence, Wayne spoke of how the business grew and has not lost sight of how helping customers remains a number one goal.

R.E. Coogan Heating Inc.- A Rhode Island-based company started by Robert E Coogan Jr has served RI for over 30 years.  This owner knew in the 90's his calling was to enter this line of work, and he has grown this business ever since.

RIHI The Home Improvement Specialist—This RI-based business is older than the Home Show itself! Founded and owned by the Aurgemma family, RIHI is one to call for all your home improvement needs. Inside or outside of the home, they seem to have it all covered!  While speaking with their show crew, I learned how dedicated this company is. "With RIHI, you’re more than a customer—you’re Family" is noted on their website, and I truly felt!  The owner himself was there to assist a convention goer!

Rosemary's Wish Kids, Inc.- Secured among the flowers was Rosemary's Wish Kids Inc.  This is not your typical home show vendor; this is much more!  This company's goal is to brighten a child's day, to help lift them up, and connect others to them by granting a wish; according to their website, the "mission and goal was to grant every medically qualified child “one memorable wish.” ."  Read about their history here!  Several of Rosemary's Kid's houses were set up for all to see before they headed off to their final destination. I think this is my new favorite!  I was in awe, just thinking of the reaction the children would have when their wish houses were delivered to them so they could be kids and play in them.

These houses were crafted by local students who spent countless hours creating these "Wish Houses," but also delivering them.
Amazing talent and heart!
