and the earliest years are where communication, connection, and confidence begin.
Happy Talk Song & Sign is a joyful, community-centered caregiver-and-child class designed to support early language development through music, movement, play, and simple sign language. Created and led by a pediatric speech-language pathologist, this
8-week program gives families practical tools to help their little ones communicate —
all while having fun together.

Classes are thoughtfully designed for “Tinies” (5–24 months) and “Tots” (2–3 years), meeting children exactly where they are developmentally.
● Tinies (5–24 months): Perfect for babies who are sitting, crawling, and soaking in the world around them. This 8-week session focuses on basic American Sign Language (ASL) vocabulary tied to everyday routines like bedtime, bath time, car rides, and play. Through lively songs and sensory-rich activities, caregivers will build confidence using signs that support early comprehension and communication.
● Tots (2–3 years): Designed for energetic toddlers ready to explore language through movement, music, pretend play, and themed learning. Each week presents a new theme—like Under the Sea, Wild Child, or Big Feelings—that invites children to practice vocabulary, turn-taking, and social interaction while expanding early literacy and expressive skills.

Happy Talk is about more than learning signs or songs — it’s about connection. It’s about slowing down, being present, and building confidence in how your child communicates, long before words are fully formed. Families leave not only with new tools, but with shared moments and memories that matter. Classes are led by Aly Menty, a pediatric speech-language pathologist with over 14 years of experience supporting young children and families. Her approach is playful, neuroaffirming, and rooted in the belief that children learn best through connection, joy, and meaningful interaction.
Sessions are offered in community locations across Rhode Island, including Middletown and Barrington.
Class sizes are intentionally small to create a supportive,
welcoming environment where families can connect and grow together.
